I totally expected a breakup or shade song as Selena’s first single but instead we got this adorable (seemingly) pro-Jelena song! (otp, don’t mess) When the title was released I was totally expecting something along the lines of “I’m single now; so boys, Come And Get It!” However the lyrics lead me to believe that there IS still hope for a rekindling in the future.

Of course this could be all wishful thinking on my part because I have no idea the actual intent of the song. Selena’s team may have just wanted to use the breakup/relationship for promotional purposes or to up the single’s sales. (However in my personal opinion I think a breakup/shade song would have done the exact same thing but it may have portrayed Selena in a more negative light— especially after ‘Nothing Like Us’)

I guess we’ll have to wait for those radio interviews that are sure to take place when the song finally drops. Can’t wait for April 8th!
